My Bloody Valentine's new album could be released in two or three days, according to the band's frontman Kevin Shields. 

Speaking on stage during the band's show at Brixton's Electric, Shields said the long-awaited follow-up to 1991's 'Loveless' "might be out in two or three days". 

The band kicked off their set with a brand new song, labelled 'Rough Song', on the setlist. It was the only new material played at the 'rehearsal' gig, a warm-up for their forthcoming tour dates. 

The show was added earlier this month as a warm-up for the band's scheduled tour of Japan and Australia, before returning to the UK for a tour in March. They've also added a Birmingham date to the tour.

In December, the seminal shoegaze band posted a message to their fans on Facebook informing them that a new album had finally been mastered, although no release date was given.
