Beyonce has pledged to sing live during her Super Bowl halftime performance at the weekend.

Speaking at a press conference, the vocalist said: "I will absolutely be singing live. I am well-rehearsed. I will absolutely be singing live, and this is what I was born to do."

Beyonce made the comments in light of the miming controversy which surrounded her appearance at US President Obama's inauguration earlier this month. She admitted that she lip-synched 'The Star Spangled Banner', saying - via Billboard: 

"I am a perfectionist, and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed. And I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra... Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound-check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk."

She opened up the press conference by performing a live version of the US national anthem. 

When asked if her old band Destiny's Childwould be reuniting at the show this Sunday (February 3) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, she kept her cards close to her chest, saying: "I can't really give you any details. I'm sorry."

However, she went on to state that she would be making an important announcement following her performance at the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, likely regarding future touring plans or her new album.

Jennifer Hudson will also be appearing at the prestigious American Football match, to sing 'America The Beautiful'. She will be joined by the Sandy Hook Elementary Choir.
